In 25679 AD, the Astral Xenogenetics Collective sent out a cache containing alien specimens from a faraway planet to the closest space station available: Tartarus Station. The station was meant to protect and further study the aliens until a corporate ship would come to pick them up. The aliens, named the Kyorin, were classified as category five aliens in the AXC Alien Threat scale, some of the most deadly organisms in the known universe. However, as the station passed by the stellar-mass black hole known as the Old Erebus, the station’s power systems malfunctioned.

AND NOW, THE ALIENS ARE OUT FOR BLOOD.

The crew aboard Tartarus, not knowing what to do, consulted the station’s artificial intelligence assistant affectionatelly dubbed Tim. However, unknowingly to the crew, the power malfunction severely damaged Tim’s logic chip.

THE AI WENT ROGUE.

Tim, in his synthetic wisdom, decided that the best way to take care of the aliens was for the entire station to be destroyed by the nearby black hole. Before the crew was even aware of what just happened, Tim disabled the station’s controls.
